Roots in Chianti

On the hills overlooking the Arno Valley, just a few kilometres from Florence, the vineyards and olive groves of Castello di Volognano give life to wines and products that reflect the agricultural heritage of this land.

The vines grow at around 400 metres above sea level, on predominantly clay soils, in a microclimate defined by warm summers and significant day–night temperature variation—ideal conditions for balanced grape ripening.

 A Taste of the Estate

Relaxation and conviviality

From vineyard to bottle, every step is carefully managed to express the character of these hills.

Alongside classic Tuscan wines, the estate also produces Vin Santo and extra virgin olive oil—authentic expressions of the agricultural culture of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini.

Baccante

IGT Toscana Rosso

A red wine of depth and character, made from Sangiovese and Merlot grown in the estate’s most suitable vineyards.

The clay soils and altitude contribute to a wine with structure and personality, aged in small oak barrels before further refinement in bottle.

Noi

Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG

The most authentic expression of the winemaking tradition of the hills surrounding Florence.

Produced from base Sangiovese, it reflects both the character of the territory and the identity of Chianti Colli Fiorentini.

Donna Patrizia

IGT Toscana Bianco

An elegant white wine made from Trebbiano, Vermentino del Chianti and Chardonnay.

Fresh and harmonious, it captures the balance and brightness of the Tuscan hills.

Al Galoppo

Rosato Toscana IGT

An elegant rosé made from Sangiovese and Merlot grapes, gently pressed as whole clusters to preserve freshness and minerality.

Aged on fine lees for several months, it stands out for its pale pink colour, delicate aromatic profile and balanced palate—ideal with appetisers, seafood and relaxed convivial moments.

Olio extra vergine

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The extra virgin olive oil of Castello di Volognano is produced from Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino olives, hand-harvested from the estate’s groves.

Green with golden reflections, it offers an intense fruity aroma and a harmonious flavour with a pleasant, characteristic bitterness.

Aetius

Vin Santo del Chianti DOC

One of the most iconic wines of Tuscan tradition.

Produced from Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia del Chianti grapes, naturally dried on traditional reed mats and aged in characteristic small oak barrels.
